Fighter Bout Drop Rules

  • FIGHTERS & TRAINERS
    • If you commit to a fight card, we take your commitment SERIOUSLY!
    • You have now accepted an opportunity to perform on an IKF Sanctioned event.
    • You have filled up a match spot that many other fighters could have had or wished they had, yet this opportunity has been given to YOU.

  • That being said...
    • Anytime you pull out your committed fight you have now let many others down.
    • The event Promoter who has given you the opportunity to participate on his or her event, and more so, your opponent who has been training hard to prepare him or herself for their match with you.
    • If you pull off a fight card within 15 days of your scheduled event/bout, the IKF is informed by the event promoter and the IKF will remove your name from the bout card and place you on the IKF CA Suspension page.
    • To be cleared to fight again, you must do the following:

      1. IF YOU PULL FROM YOUR BOUT DUE TO MEDICAL INJURY
        • If you pull off the event due to a medical injury you will be given an automatic "Medical" Suspension and placed on the IKF CA Suspension page found HERE.
        • If your injured and cannot participate, we do not want you to injure yourself worse or book yourself on another event until you have been Medically Cleared.
        • To avoid a 1 year suspension and possible **Fines, you must provided a Doctor note explaining the injury that you have or had and that you were unable to compete on the event date.
        • Once attained, this Doctor's letter needs to be sent out via E-mail to the IKF at main@ikfkickboxing.com
        • TRAINERS: Trainer Suspension could mirror the same time as Fighter - At a Minimum - Trainer would be Suspended half the Fighter Suspension Time.

          • HOW TO BECOME MEDICALLY CLEARED TO FIGHT AGAIN
Since we have no way of knowing how serious your injury may be, to be released from your Medical Suspension, you will need to again, provided a Doctor note explaining the injury that you had and that the signing Doctor (MD) has now cleared you to compete in a FULL CONTACT FIGHT SPORT. Once attained, this Doctor's letter needs to be sent out via E-mail to the IKF at main@ikfkickboxing.com to release you from your Medical Suspension.

      2. IF YOU PULL FROM YOUR BOUT DUE TO PERSONAL REASONS
        • You will be given an automatic 45 day Personal Time Suspension to deal with whatever personal issues took you out of your committed bout.
        • Depending on how close in date you are to your committed bout/event, you could still face a **Promoter Reimbursement Fine.
        • TRAINERS: Trainer Suspension could mirror the same time as Fighter - At a Minimum - Trainer would be Suspended half the Fighter Suspension Time.

  • (**) Promoter Reimbursement Fine
    • FINES AND SUSPENSIONS ARE "ALWAYS" APPLIED FOR A FIGHTER WHO NO SHOWS TO AN EVENT WEIGH-IN
    • These fines, if applied are paid 100% to the event Promoter.
    • They would cover any cost the Promoter has lost if he or she is unable to replace you as an opponent.
    • These Fines are more common when a fighter pulls out the week of the event and even more so, if the promoter has spent money for an out of town fighter or a Title Bout.
    • Fines could include: Title Belt Fees, Title Bout Sanctioning Fees, Hotel Fees for your opponent, Travel Fees for your opponent and any other related promoter expenses.
    • TRAINERS: Trainer Suspension could mirror the same time as Fighter - At a Minimum - Trainer would be Suspended half the Fighter Suspension Time.
    • The closer it is to your scheduled event, the more extensive the Fines and Suspension.
