Welcome to the IKF Kickboxing Message Board.
My name is Lisa
and although I'd like to offer my last name, I was informed not to because of
privacy issues. I was appointed as the acting IKF
Kickboxing Message Board Admin on May 25th, 2007. The reasons for my appointment
was to assure a professional character for the IKF
Kickboxing Message Board. My position is NOT to inform others of my
personal opinions, but instead, to approve or deny prospected board members and
keep watch of the board to assure all messages are presented in a positive
light. In the past, I have read others taking negative shots at the IKF and other individuals on the Message Board which
only hurts the "SPORT" of Kickboxing, not just the IKF, but ALL of kickboxing. This is
my one warning to everyone that these kinds of posts will no longer be tolerated
under my watch. The sport of kickboxing has suffered because so many in the
sport have attacked others, thus bringing the sport lower and lower.
In the past I have seen the arguments among various promoters and the IKF continue too far. Eventually, rather than
understand the reason behind certain actions of the IKF,
these people have decided it easier to branch out and start their own
organization, leaving behind the one organization that spent months building
their name as a Promoter or other areas of the sport. As many can agree, there
really is only one organization that has spent the time to build names and stars
in the sport of Kickboxing, and it goes without saying, that organization is the
IKF. As time goes on though from these
disagreements, the "Sport" of kickboxing becomes more and more
fragmented until finally, everyone is simply a small fish in a big pond,
swimming about and going nowhere. I fear this to be the fate of us all if the
bickering continues.
On the other hand, those who "Exaggerated" about their
accomplishments and their organizations are hurting the sport even more. False
truths that are give the perception of reality and fail their goals are even
more damaging to the sport. Here, in the end, those broken promises hurt us all
and make the general public question our sport as one they can fully trust in
regards to factual information. This is what has hurt us in the past from
finding big sponsorship deals. The sponsors simply don't know what or who to
believe any more from some of the "Exaggerated" information many have
fed them through the years. this is why the IKF
feels it so important to have their website like an open book, so that everyone
can see exactly what they are doing. this is why nothing in the IKF is hidden. It's all there for anyone to read,
and unfortunately, for many to copy which many have done to start their own
little organizations.
It takes "WORK" to stick together as a Team. Especially
when so many people want so many different things. Unity is something the IKF has always been about which was one of the
founding words of the Federation's
5 STAR MISSION which has always read,
- CREDIBILITY: To Provide legitimate title holders and establish a
legitimate and detailed monthly ranking system for both Amateur and Professional
Kickboxers.
- FAIRNESS: To Oversee all IKF
rules, regulations and bouts to assure fairness, quality and competitive spirit
among all kickboxers.
- RECOGNITION: To Recognize all Kickboxers, Trainers, Promoters,
Officials and Sponsors who assist in promoting the Sport of Kickboxing.
- SUPPORT: To Provide Professional Assistance to all IKF event promoters to help make each event a
financial success.
- UNITY: To Promote unity among all schools, fighters, trainers and
promoters so the sport of kickboxing can grow to its fullest potential.
Some of those who use to work with the IKF
have failed and continue to fail to see where the IKF
has, and continues to give recognition to those involved in the Sport. Sadly to
say that sometimes when I have read the Kickboxing Message Board, those written
words and comments on there speak more of what's wrong with our sport and those
in it when instead, our words should have rather spoke as to why our sport is
exciting and filled with great action and incredible skill. It is my personal
quest to keep the news of Kickboxing on the Kickboxing Message Board Positive,
no matter what the cost and in doing so, those negative messages on the Message
Board will no longer be tolerated!
So again, let this be the first and final warning to everyone that if a
posted message seems attacking or negative towards the "SPORT" of
Kickboxing, IT WILL BE REMOVED.
Sincerely, Lisa, IKF Kickboxing Message Board Admin
CONTINUED MESSAGE BOARD
RULES
- No Tolerance Stance!
After
issues with negative posts the IKF has
made the decision to dump any post that attacks an individual that has no real
name posted "WITH" a confirmable e-mail address posted with
it. The IKF is taking an "No
Tolerance" stance on the negative attacking message board posts meaning:
"If someone has the nerve to say something negative about someone, they
need to back it up with a truthful name and a verifiable e-mail address, as all
other message boards require!
- ADVERTISING:
Any and
ALL Advertisements for things such as equipment, seminars, videos, books, etc.
etc. must go through the IKF Marketing
department first to be accepted as a post on the board. To attain approval
please send an e-mail to:
main@ikfkickboxing.com
If a post has been placed on the Message Board without this approval, it will be
removed until such written IKF approval.
If you wish to use the IKF Website to
advertise your produce, you can purchase advertising space on the IKF website. To see prices, CLICK HERE.
- NON Kickboxing/Martial Arts related items
advertised on the board will be REMOVED!
- NON IKF
EVENT POSTS
Let us all not forget one important thing...
This Message Board is the IKF Kickboxing
Message Board and is hosted and paid for by the IKF.
- Although we want this board to be a general news location for all of
kickboxing, we must make a stand about something that has caused a lot of
arguments on the board and a lot of negative discussions. As of November 20th,
2003, the message board will no longer allow postings of non IKF Sanctioned events. This may seem petty, but we
are tired of seeing the arguments that take place between IKF Supporters and non IKF
Supporters.
- This board was first created for IKF
Kickboxing News and discussions related to the IKF.
- Just because no other Sanctioning organization has a message board does not
mean we are willing to allow free discussion about non IKF
Sanctioned events on the "IKF"
Message Board. This is a benefit to an event and the event Promoter being
IKF Sanctioned and is exclusive to them.
- If you were a Karate or Kickboxing Gym, you would not allow your
competition from down the street to advertise inside your gym, at your front
counter, would you? Of course not, and you cannot
expect the IKF to be any different.
If so, your not being honest with us all.
- This being said, we are sorry that we are not welcoming discussions about
other non IKF Sanctioned events. If these
other events want to be discussed, maybe they should simply get their own
message board.
- IN ADDITION: Any and all advertising on any IKF web page is the privilege and benefit we here at
the IKF provide for our Promoters.
As
of November 20th, 2003, any posts that are about any non IKF Sanctioned event, whether they be prior or after
said event will be removed from this board to avoid negative conversations.
- This rule is because many have used the IKF
site for the only or main advertising of their events. If the tournament
promoters want to use the IKF Website to "PROMOTE"
their event they can;
- Sanction the event with the IKF. For
IKF sanctioning information
- Purchase advertising space on the IKF
website. To do so
- POSTING - In General
- Please delete all previous text in the "Comments" box before
typing your reply. When you leave the previous comments there it is often
confusing as to what and where your comments are in your response.
- Please DO NOT type your entire message in "UPPERCASE"
letters.
YOUR MESSAGE TYPED IN UPPERCASE LETTERS is considered to be "shouting"
in the Internet world and is not allowed. Such posts are hard to read. Typing in
UPPERCASE is acceptable when you are trying to;
- Get your point across STRONG for a few words, but NOT your entire
message!
- Separate your reply to someone else's comments.
- ATTACKING COMMENTS
- Anyone who posts any statement that attacks any individual, sanctioning
body, gym, event etc. etc. in any way must be supported with facts that justify
such an attacking e-mail. We here at the IKF
truly believe "Constructive Criticism" can be very helpful, but those
who attack must also be able to point out the entire issue so those being
attacked have the opportunity to respond appropriately.
- TOURNAMENT EVENT POSTINGS
- Although we want this board to be a general news location for all of
kickboxing, we must make a stand about something that has been causing a lot of
arguments on the board and a lot of negative discussions. As of November 20th,
2003, the message board will no longer support non IKF
Sanctioned events. This may seem petty, but we are tired of seeing the arguments
that take place between
IKF Supporters and non IKF Supporters. In addition, any and all advertising
on any IKF web page is the privilege and
benefit we here at the IKF provide for our
Promoters.
As of November 20th, 2003, any posts that are about any non IKF, Sanctioned event, whether they be prior or
after said event will be removed from this board to avoid negative
conversations.
- NON ACCEPTABLE POSTINGS
- Politics
- Religion
- Sexual comments or topics!
- Use of the "F" word in ANY TEXT form! We think you know what this
word is...
- Photos, graphics, or event posters. These take up too Bandwidth on our web
page space. See "POSTING PHOTOS" Below
- FIGHT CHALLENGES
- If you are a fighter and wish to challenge another fighter, you may do so
on the board. However, in doing so, you must include WITH your post the
following:
- "EXACTLY" who you are.
- What own/city, state and country you are from.
- Your fight record.
- Whether you are you amateur or pro.
- Who you have in mind to promote the bout.
- WHY you are issuing the challenge.
- Your Trainers contact phone and e-mail. If no trainer, your contact phone
and e-mail.
- SELF ADVERTISING
- We will allow you to advertise yourself as a fighter, trainer, club/gym,
promoter or official Once. However, if your thread-post has been deleted after
the 45 day mark, you will be allowed to post again, but please do not make a
habit of this.
- POSTING PHOTOS
- Due to bandwidth limitations, please do not post photos on the message
board. Links to photos are ok though.
- TOPIC TITLES
- Keep your Topic Titles SHORT. Let the text of the message itself explain
your post. Making long titles takes up too much room on the content section of
the page.
- SET UPS:
- Some people like to start arguments on message boards. (daaaa) They
do so by making a statement or comment in hopes the person they are referring to
will argue back. Often these opening comments have no facts to justify them,
which of course, would be grounds for removal anyway. However, some may offer a
few justified facts and some non facts to elaborate the issue. If we feel a
poster is clearly trying to bait someone into an argument, the post will be
deleted immediately. On some message boards such a posting is called "Trolling".
- CONTACTING IKF
OR THE BOARD MODERATORS
- If you have a question to be addressed to the IKF,
please do not post it on the message board. Instead, please phone us at (916)
663-2467 or e-mail the board moderators with the words MESSAGE BOARD in the
subject line at
main@ikfkickboxing.com
If you have a question for the IKF, non
related to the message board you may use the same e-mail address at
main@ikfkickboxing.com
These rules and regulations of the
MESSAGE BOARD will be updated often with additional
ideas and requests from our readers. If you have any such ideas or requests
please e-mail them to me at
