SEEDING & MATCHMAKING

RULE STYLE and WEIGHT CLASS REGISTRATION

All Fighters must choose a RULE DIVISION - FIGHTING STYLE and WEIGHTCLASS to Fight in when they register for their Regional Event OR when they Register as a Walkover to the Finals.

For fighters who qualified and plan to attend the Finals as a Regional Winner or Walkover (No regional to attend or no opponent at their regional) they CANNOT change their RULE or WEIGHT DIVISION at the National Finals. They MUST Compete at Nationals in the SAME RULE DIVISION and SAME WEIGHT DIVISION as they Won their Regional level event at or Registered as a Walkover at. If a fighter weighs-in heavier than their registered fight weight division, whether at the Regional Level or the Finals, they will be given "2 HOURS" to LOSE the Weight to make their Registered weight class. NO FIGHTER MAY "GAIN" Weight to make their weight class. If a Fighter weighs-in UNDER their weight class, they will be automatically disqualified from competition without any refund of any registration fees. If after 2 hours, the fighter is still unable to make their registered weight, they will be disqualified from competition whether at the Regional Level or the Finals, without any refund of registration fees.

HOWEVER if there are no fighters in or close to their weight and or rule division registered for the Finals, they will be given a choice within 1 week after the Registration Deadline date to either switch rule and or weight divisions OR be given a refund of their Finals Registration Fees.

MATCHMAKING AT THE FINALS

1. All FINAL MATCHMAKING and BOUT ORDER for each bout at the FINALS will be Confirmed AFTER the Official Weigh-Ins.
   
   
2. WALKOVER CHAMPIONS: There will be NO WALKOVER CHAMPIONS. "HOWEVER", IF Your confirmed with a scheduled opponent BEFORE the weigh-in date of the Finals Tournament and your opponent doesn't show up for some reason at the official weigh-ins of the Finals Tournament, you will be awarded the title by walkover if there are no other opponents in your division. If this happens, you are also allowed at this time to switch rule styles or weight divisions so you can at least have a fight, and a chance at winning "2" Tournament Titles.
   
   
3. If a fighter qualifies at a regional event and we discover that there are no CONFIRMED Opponents for them to fight in their weight class PRIOR to the date of the USA National Finals Tournament Weekend, they will have several options.
   • SWITCH to a WEIGHT CLASS above or below them to be matched.
   • SWITCH to a different rule style.
   • Not attend the Finals Tournament and receive a full refund of their registration fees.

FIGHTER SEEDING

• Fighters Are Seeded According To The Following
  1. First Seeding right goes to the Previous Years Defending Champion if in the SAME weightclass and rule style.
     
     
  2. If no Previous Years Defending Champion, the next potential seed position goes to a fighter who fought in an actual regional division bout at a regional event and won his/her match.
     • If there is more than 1 winner, the seeding will be determined by WHEN the fighters Registration Form was RECEIVED here at IKF Headquarters.
       
       
  3. If no Regional Winner, the next potential seed position goes to a fighter who Lost a Regional Seeding Tournament Bout.
     
     
  4. If no Regional Winner or loser who fought, the next potential seed position goes to a fighter who Registered at a Regional Seeding Tournament but did not have a bout.
     
     
  5. If no Regional registered fighters, the next potential seed position goes to the fighter whos' registration form was received here at IKF Headquarters.
     • If a Tie on Day RECEIVED, the tie will be broken by Earliest date registration was POSTMARKED to IKF.
     • Followed by proven and or verified fight record.

WHO FIGHTS WHO IN THE BRACKETS

• Once the fighters are seeded, who will they fight?
  • In Divisions with an EVEN Number of Fighters
    
    
    • In Divisions of "2" Fighters
      1. SATURDAY OR SUNDAY FINAL:
         • Seed #1 will fight seed #2 on either Saturday afternoon or Sunday for the Championship Tournament Title.
           
           
    • In Divisions of "4" Fighters
      1. ROUND 1:
         • Seed #2 will face seed #3.
         • Seed #4 will face seed #1.
           
           
      2. SATURDAY OR SUNDAY FINAL:
         • The winners of these 2 matches will fight Saturday afternoon or Sunday for the Championship Tournament Title.
           
           
    • In Divisions of "6" Fighters
      1. ROUND 1 Saturday:
         • Seed #1 & 2 will have a bye.
         • Seed #3 will fight seed #4.
         • Seed #5 will fight seed #6.
           
           
      2. ROUND 2 Saturday:
         • The winner of #3 & #4 will fight seed #2.
         • The winner of #5 & #6 will fight seed #1.
           
           
      3. SUNDAY FINAL:
         • Winners of last 2 bouts will fight for the Championship Tournament Title.
           
           
    • In Divisions of "8" Fighters
      1. ROUND 1 SATURDAY AM:
         • Seed #3 will face seed #6.
         • Seed #2 will face seed #7.
         • Seed #4 will face seed #5.
         • Seed #8 will face seed #1.
           
           
      2. ROUND 2 SATURDAY PM:
         • Winner of 3 & 6 will fight winner of 7 & 2.
         • Winner of 4 & 5 will fight winner of 8 & 1.
           
           
      3. SUNDAY FINAL:
         • The winners of the last 2 matches will fight for the Championship Tournament Title.
           
           
           
           
  • In Divisions with an ODD Number of Fighters
    
    
    • In Divisions of "3" Fighters
      1. ROUND 1 SATURDAY:
         • The #1 seed will receive a bye.
         • Seed #2 will fight seed #3.
           
           
      2. SATURDAY PM OR SUNDAY FINAL:
         • The winner of 2 vs 3 will fight seed #1 for the Championship Tournament Title.
           
           
    • In Divisions of "5" Fighters
      1. ROUND 1 SATURDAY AM:
         • Seed #1 will receive a bye.
         • Seed #4 will fight seed #5.
         • Seed #2 will fight Seed #3.
           • The winner of 2 vs 3 will advance to the Championship bout on Sunday.
             
             
      2. ROUND 2 SATURDAY PM:
         • Winner of 4 vs 5 will fight Seed #1.
           
           
      3. SUNDAY FINAL:
         • The winner of 4 vs 5 vs 1 will fight the winner of 2 vs 3 for the Championship Title.
           
           
    • In Divisions of "7" Fighters
      1. ROUND 1 SATURDAY AM:
         • The #1 seed will receive a bye.
         • Seed #7 will fight seed #6 in the first fight.
         • Seed #2 will fight Seed #5.
         • Seed #4 will fight Seed #3.
           
           
      2. ROUND 2 SATURDAY PM:
         • Winner of 7 & 6 will fight Seed #1.
         • Winner of 2 & 5 will fight winner of 4 & 3.
           
           
      3. SUNDAY FINAL:
         • Winner of 7 vs 6 vs 1 will fight winner of 2 vs 5 vs winner of 4 vs 3 for the Championship Title.
