    Doran's trainer Jacob Doran (Also the event promoter) protested verbally at the end of the bout that Ward hit Doran with a spinning elbow. The strike ended the bout as Doran was obviously out on his feet. Doran never filed any official protest but the IKF reviewed the strike anyway. After a video review, the IKF ruled the strike as a legal blow. Doran had been losing on all 3 judges cards up until the strike and had 2 standing 8 counts in the final round before the final strike.

      HOWEVER, at the time, Margaret McGregor was a Pro Kickboxer having already fought Kim Messer, defeating her in 1992. For this reason, the loss on Albrightson record was ruled a "No contest" since it was booked as an Amateur bout back then.
