"JUMP ON BOARD NOW WHILE THE
IKF IS GROWING STRONG!"

In 1994, the IKF was the most active sanctioning body in the state of California. In 1995 and 96, the IKF will seek out more events across the USA and worldwide. We have been in contact with a lot of promoters that are looking for the respect the IKF has given other promoters, fighters, and trainers. Watch for more events outside California late this year or early 2006 and let us know of new promoters interested in the IKF worldwide. "The ship is leaving the harbor, jump on now or miss the boat."

JACK STEARNS RETAINS IKF TITLE IN SLUGFEST WITH DANOVIS POOLER
IKFUnited States Full Contact Rules Cruiserweight Champion Jack Stearns (5-0-1 of Auburn, CA) had his hands full defending his title against Danovis Pooler (4-2 of Daly City). The bout was a slugfest going all 5 rounds with Stearns winning the Majority decision as the scorecards read 46-45, 47-43 and 45-45. The disappointing part of the bout was that Pooler only recorded 12 kicks during the entire bout. According to IKF rules, a fighter will loose 1 point per round after they are warned in 1 round for not getting all 6 required kicks in. While Stearns got all of his kicks in, Pooler didn’t get his 6 kick minimum in any of the 5 rounds. Because of this, Pooler lost 4 points from each judge. Pooler kept countering off Stearns kicks, but if Pooler would have kicked, think about both these thoughts. 1-Stearns has proved in the past that he can counter good off his opponents kicks. He could have been able to score high off Poolers kicks and 2-If Pooler could have kicked successfully, how would the score cards look? Stearns is trained by Greg Kirkpatrick while Pooler is trained by Mike Espinoza.
    *Jack Stearns (190 - Auburn, CA - 5-0-2) defeated Danovis Pooler (190 - Daly City, CA - 4-2) by Majority Decision, 46-45, 47-43 and 45-45.

  12. Vacant IKF Full Contact Rules United States Middleweight Title
DAVE MARINOBLE WINS 2ND IKF UNITED STATES TITLE
Probably the most exciting bout of the night was the semi main event featuring Dave Marinoble (5-0-1 of Roseville, CA) against Dominic Sivilon (6-3 of San Diego, CA) for the vacant IKF Full Contact Rules United States Middleweight Title. Marinoble won the bout on a unanimous decision scoring 49-46, 49-45, 50-44. Simply said, “THIS WAS A GREAT FIGHT” by 2 great fighters! Keep up the great work guys! Marinoble is trained by James Kane and Greg Kirkpatrick while Sivilon is trained by Doug Dickey.
    Dave Marinoble (163 - Roseville, CA - 5-0-1) defeated Dominic Sivilon (160 - San Diego, CA - 6-3) by Unanimous Decision, 49-46, 49-45 and 50-44.

  13. Vacant IKF Full Contact Rules United States Light Heavyweight Title
MIKE DOUGHERTY WINS IKF INTL. RULES LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
In the main event at the Rumble in Redding, Mike Dougherty (7-1 of Loomis, CA) defeated Julio Nunez (14-5 of New Mexico) by a unanimous decision scoring 50-44, 49-45 & 48-46 to win the vacant IKF United States Light Heavyweight Title. Other than the many kicks Dougherty suffered to his knees, this too was a great fight. Dougherty is trained by Greg Kirkpatrick while Nunez is trained by Tony Rosales.
    Mike Dougherty (173 - Loomis, CA - 7-1) defeated Julio Nunez (175 - Albq., New Mexico - 14-5) by Unanimous Decision, 50-44, 49-45 and 48-46.

October NEWS - 1995

IKF CO-FOUNDER
DANNIE "BAM BAM" STELL
RETURNS TO THE RING.

Fighting in his second bout since his return to the ring, Dannie "Bam Bam" Stell proved he should have never left. Stell recorded a first round knockout in Reno to attain the ISKA Pro North American title this year and just recently walked through world contender Russell Franklin. Stell put Franklin down twice in the opening round on his way to a unanimous decision victory. He hopes to fight again this Fall or Spring 96 and hopefully for an IKF title if a promoter will step up as well as a challenger for him. Good luck Bam Bam! Were proud of you and glad to see you doing the "Bam Bam" thing again!

IKF U.S. AMATEUR CHAMPION
VOYTICEK TURNS PRO

After winning the IKF U.S. Heavyweight title from Greg Kirkpatrick in one of the greatest heavyweight bouts we have ever seen, new IKF U.S. Amateur Heavyweight Champion Greg "Sandman" Voyticek retired his title and turned pro Kickboxer in July of 1995 against Jean Claude Pierre Leuver of Arizona, USA. Leuver won by TKO in a brutal leg kick bout. We are sure though that Greg will come back a winner. Both fighters have proved to the IKF that they are true champions in and out of the ring. Kirkpatrick will soon fight for the now vacant IKF U.S. Heavyweight title.

WASHINGTON'S AMATEUR IKF U.S. TITLE
STRIPPED BY IKF!

Turns out fight fans, "The Shadow" was once a licensed pro fighter in California! According to the California State Athletic Commission, Rico "The Shadow" Washington of Bakersfield, CA, USA was once a professional kickboxer. Apparently, Washington was using his brother's name for his amateur license. According to IKF rules, Washington was stripped of his US title and his trainer, Eric Nolan, notified. Washington listed his IKF record as 8 wins and 4 losses with 3 knockouts. Hopefully the 25 year old fighter will win his long awaited title in a pro bout. Good luck Rico.

IKF U.S AMATEUR CHAMPION
TUSTSUI TURNS PRO

Past IKF U.S. Light Welterweight Champion George Tsutsui turned professional kickboxer in July of 1995. Although he lost his first pro bout, George will continue to strive on to yet another IKF title, this time in the pro ranks. Good luck George!
