We are talking to a current boxing promoter about adding Kickboxing to his shows here in Atlanta.

I need to get some feed back from Pro International Rules and Muay Thai Fighters. Are there any kickboxers still fighting???? Let me know.

Drew,

I am still considering it. IT has almost been a full year since my comeback fight, in which I was NOT happy with my performance. A win is a win, but I wanted to do better. I have had various injuries over the year which kept me from training seriously, plus coaching the team. BUT, I still have the itch, so after the first of the year, providing training gets back on track, I would be game. Ya have any more details?

Drew,

Also I know of a guy, Douglas Edwards who just turned Pro Muay Thai (undefeated as an amateur) who just moved back to Kansas City area from Atlanta. I know his trainer/manager and he is looking for fights at light middle wt.

Marshall Blevins is hoping to have his Muay Thai Pro debut in a week or so, so he is always looking for fights at liight middle wt.

And Jeremy Harminson is still looking for fights to at light middle wt.

Actually, I know of several others both lighter and heavier in the Midwest area who are Pro veterans of just turning Pro. So shoot some details and I will shoot ya some contact info at ya.

Later, Pete

Drew,

Don't forget about me in Augusta, I will fight Thai rules, International, or FCR. Hell, I'll fight MMA, swords, even glue and glass wrapped hands. We have several fighters, both pro and am we can bring out of Greubel' school. Stevie Dement will go FCR or International, as well.

Holla,

Gentleman,

It is good to hear from you all!!!

Zack you know I'm going to call you guys!!!

We are talking to the promoter now.. Currently he has only promoted boxing shows.... Randy Pogue, Philip Botha, and Matt Calahan have all fought pro boxing bouts at his events, we are in the process of getting him in touch with the current Kickboxing sanctioning bodies and getting setup to do kickboxing on December 1st or 2nd in Atlanta.

We will be trying to match up Ruben Lopez in either FCR/IR/or K-1 rules at probably Cruiserweight, and Anthony Nieves MT/K-1 at Middleweight...

Randy Pogue will probably fight a boxing bout and I will probably be looking for an amateur MT/K-1 bout at 159# or 165#. I will get you all more information this week.

That sounds like a blast! I'd love to fight in December. However, I recently tore a calf muscle (this past Saturday) which actually prevents me from an alternate position on the Nov 10th WCL in Miami. I'm not sure how long this will take to totally heal. If anyone has dealt with this injury, I'm interested to find out the remedy and prevention from reoccurrence. Put me down as a possibility at 164 to 169lbs...but it truly depends on how quickly this thing goes away. It's VERY discouraging. I am game for straight pro boxing, IR (to a lesser extent), and obviously FCR. Any suggestions are certainly welcome.

For the record I am not the promoter. The promoter is Adrian Patrick. He has been promoting professional boxing matches. We have approached him about adding Kickboxing to his shows because no one is promoting kickboxing in this area.

Everyone serious about fighting on a December 1st show in Atlanta
e-mail your contact information including Height, Weight, Record, Phone Number.

I am working on a budget so I will need an estimate on purses and travel money. If it fits into the budget we will replace 3 boxing matches with 3 kickboxing matches on the card. We are going to approach the approved sanctioning bodies in Georgia which include the IKF to see which one is the best and most affordable to work with for this show

This is a Pro card, possibly a fourth kickboxing matchup could be made for an amateur fight.

So far the only fight I have as a possible match are Anthony Nieves Vs. Zack Day at 165# either MT or K-1 rules.

I need an opponent at light cruiserweight or cruiserweight for Ruben Lopez, he will fight FCR, IR, or K-1

Everyone else send me your information ASAP.

Thank you,
Andrew

Zack: Hope you get to fight in Dec. You can use me as a punching bag if needed......... :p

Stevie: That suck's!!!!! You have been training like a Pitbull that has been unleashed and is willing to fight ALL the junkyard dogs at ONE time. :D Your day is coming brother. You will get your opportunity, hopefully it will be soon. You deserve it.

Is there someone in our facility that is helping the both of you tear those calves muscles??????? Just kidding!!!!!! Both of you have suffered these injuries before upcoming fights. Hopefully there are no strange cell sized Aliens being implanted in those calves muscles during your training. I will call C.B.I. ( Calf Busters Investigations) to begin questioning all the members.

On a serious note, both of you inspire me to show up and train...do what I need to do. Again, both of you are deserving of fighting and hopefully a title shot or two will be available down the road.

Much respect,

Larry

Larry,
It's interesting that Zach and I tore the exact same muscle. Zach and I were sparring when he did a switch step knee, which resulted in his torn calf. Believe it or not, I tore mine doing the exact switch step knee manuver working on the mitts last Saturday! I wish Zach would win a million dollars... :p
