WCL Update Team Philly was victorous over the NY Clash tonight! I did not get the play by play update because the other teams were still fighting and it was very loud. I am sure tomorrow someone will put up the full results, but for now...Stephen Thompson beat Carlos Tearney(sp?) both rounds the word I got was that Carlos stunk the place up by running from Stephen BOTH rounds. He got continous warnings and points taken for passivity to the point where the ref. threatened to DQ him. After that he got more points taken but never got DQ'ed. Peyton Russell KO'ed Lemont Davis with a kick to the head. Jason Bourelly defeated Tom Poey. Vriginia Baker was defeated by Jennifer Santiago. Ronnie Copeland was KO'ed by Armin Mrkanovic. :D Team Maimi was putting the smack down on New England as I was being updated! Is it possible that Maimi and Huston and Philly and LA will be the next teams to fight? If so...does that mean STEPHEN THOMPSON and RAYMOND "THE REAL DEAL" DAINELS fight be only a few months away??? I think so!

Splendid for Stephen and Peyton, too bad for Ronnie. What about Shannon Hudson ?

Jean-Luc,
I just wanted to let you know that unfortunately Shannon Hudson lost both rounds last night, but I can't remember the guys name! I hope this was helpful! :D

I found the guys name I believe it was Eric "El Tigre" Castanos. Correct me if I am wrong...

Megan,
You are correct. Eric "El Tigre" defeated "The Cannon" in a CLOSE contest. Shannon is not only a great fighter but an even GREATER showman. He was asked to try to get the crowd involved so, as he told me, he knew he could not get the hometown crowd to like him so he decided to make them HATE him. He actually had some of the Cuban fans (El Tigre is Cuban) threatening to come up on the platform. The Cannon is a showman extrordinare.
The Wonderboy/Showtime fiasco was a FIASCO!!! The Wonderboy could not hit Tearny because hitting on the ground wasn't allowed. The first fight actually looked promising, in the beginning, until the WB punched ST in the head. After that it was a track meet. The second fight between them STUNK!!!!! WB would blitz, ST would fall. This happened time after time. The ref threatened to DQ him on the third rules infraction but several more infractions later he was still there. The reffing, as usual was atrocious (sp?). It is obvious that Cecil Peoples has it in for me (stemming from the very first show last year on Oct 8th in Dallas where I called him on some calls that embarressed him) and he is taking it out on my team. Stephen hit Carlos with a straight left hand to the head that knocked him down but it was ruled a slip/no knock down. There are coachs and fighters I have talked to that says he needs to go. Anyway, it is obvious that I have a problem with his reffing skills. As a person, I do not know the man and have no problem but as a ref?????? Peyton was "The Man" in the Lemont "Bad Boy" Davis fight. Lemont looked, actually, pretty good for most of the fight. He moved, countered with kicks and punches. I was actually impressed. I expected Peyton to take him out within the first 30 sec of the fight but LD took that plan away from us. Peyton got his groove later in the fight and after several round kick attempts to the head one finally slammed in and put LD down. To his credit he stepped up and tried to make a fight out of it but PR was to strong and kicked him again with a round kick to the head to finish it.
Jason Bourelly/Tom Poey fights were nothing short of speed and power vs experience and heart. JB came with some of the fastest/hardest punches and kicks I think I've seen in the WCL (with the exception of the WB, of course) that hit so hard on the the Phenoms gloves that I thought he was going down. Tom did not waiver from his plan (which is where the experience comes in) and took it to JB. TP tried to get inside on JB but JB's speed was so great TP never could get there. You talk about HEART, look it up in the dictionary and I think you will see Tom Poey's pic in the definition. TP has heart but he has skill also. The second fight between these two was similar to the first but TP was able to get a little closer to JB a bit but the outcome was the same. JB over TP (MAN WHAT A COUPLE OF FIGHTS). I can't wait till this stuff hits the airwaves. Can't confirm this but a little birdie said that there is a strong possibility that the show will be picked up by a BIG network early next year. After this weekends show the WCL will have enough footage to edit 12 one hour shows for TV. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
OH, The Wonderboy WILL be fighting RD in Jan......unless he does a Joey Greenhaugh and decides to go back to point fighting. Seems Joey, after finding out he has to fight Crafton "Blaze" Wallace (who is a killer) in this show decided to return to point fighting. Word has it that he said he could make more money point fighting. But it was told to me that it would be possible for him to make more money doing point......... IF he was winning. Also there is no TV for point fighting. Anyway that's enough trash talking for now. See you at the next WCL event on Jan. 20th in Austin, Tx where the Miami Force will take on the Houston Destroyers for the WCL League Championship and the Philadelphia Fire will battle the LA Flamers or Stars or something like that as an under card contest. Put it on your calenders.

Mr.Thompson: Just got off WCL website and I read that Wonderboy and Mr. Daniels are going to square off..........YES SIR DADDY!!!!! I cannot take anything away from Mr. Daniels BUT He is not ready for the Wonderboy!!! The only way he will lose if your favorite referee decides to be......well himself!!!! I hope that Stephen just beats him into submission with a knockout in the first minute of the their fight or better yet.............just pound on him in the first fight and then Ko him with one of those ATOMIC kicks to the head in the  second fight......................................Mr.Daniels welcome to Wonderboys playground.

LM and all interested. I am not sure the Wonderboy/Daniels fight will happen in Jan. Not that we don't want to beat the big mouth Daniels to a pulp' the WB's fight with Tearny last weekend, even though he won, took a great toll on his thigh and foot. He is still unable to walk. His attempts to fire knees to Tearny cost him greatly. Got to hand it to Tearny he ran, fell and covered up well. I bet he doesn't have a scratch on him. Depending on the outcome and time frame of the healing process will determine whether this fight will in fact happen. Believe you me the WB wants to get at the loud mouth Daniels but I will not let it happen if he is injured. Keep your fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Hopefully some down time with the family will help in the healing.

Come on, now. After 6 minutes of falling down and running, he managed to do damage that 10 weeks can't fix?
I mean, Wonder Bread isn't supposed to be THAT soft, is it?
It's ok. If you're scared, say you're scared.

RP,
It seems you have us pegged. Darn can't get anything past you. We actually two weeks to get him healed up so we can train properly for the rest of the time. With the "real deal" being the greatest fighter in exhistance of the universe and that has ever lived throught out all time we need all the high level training time we can get!!! Plus with the Wonderbread being the wuss that he is I need extra time getting him to get his head on streight for this match with the "greatest"!!!

Ray:
How is the Wondermans recovery? Is he making progress and has he started walking?
Let me pass on some inspiration on to you, this Thanksgiving Day my 79 y.o. father had a stroke and became paralyzed for nearly 6 hours. They have a miracle drug called TPA which is a clot buster. This man has had 3 heart attacks, triple by pass surgery, and a pace maker placed in him. This has taken place place in the last 4 years. Not to mention the 5 busted ribs he survived when he fell from a ladder last year.
Well, yesterday he and I WALKED around the ICU unit together and he was moved to the stroke unit last night. Which is a step down from where he was rooming. My father is one of them tuff/proud old men who is truely old school and has the will/faith to survive. He never complains and never gives up on anyone or anything. God has watched over him; I believe because of his of inner faith and belief in God. It ain't his time yet. I think we have a few more years together.
Ray, I hope Wonderman heals quickly and is up to full speed by Jan. to let Mr. Daniels know that Wonderbread will sandwich him and eat him alive.
Larry :)

Hope wonderboy is getting better. I know he is a tough fighter and I can't wait to see him fight Danies. Ive see Daniels fight twice now and all he does is run and pick you to death. Anyway I know it will be a great fight and a victory for the Wonderboy. I really like how you both carry yourselfs with such class and have always been nice to me. P.S. don't listen to randy he just likes to run his mouth.
Hope to see ya in Austin, Dusty Miller
