Great Lakes Kung Fu Tournament

I've heard about this tournament from some people but cannot find when and where it will be taking place in 2009. I've heard everything from it being in Jan, Feb, and even April.

It's traditionally held around the 3rd week of April. This year it was on April 19. I looked and didn't see any information on next year's event. Probably the best web site to look at is shaolininstitute.com. It's been held for 17 years so I expect there to be a tournament next year.

This year's tournament, which includes san shou and shuai-chiao (grappling),
will be on Saturday, April 25. Check their website (shaolininstitute.com) for more info and contact information. When we were there a couple of years ago they were primarily focused on the shuai-chiao and san shou, now it sounds like they have more kung-fu, but it's still a good chance for some san shou bouts. Check with them for exact rules.
