Message Board Issue

Is there a setting I can use that will get rid of "more replies below current depth?" Can I customize my "depth?" I'm trying to transcend superficiality (did I make that word up?). This board needs to be "deeper." What I really mean is; I'm confused by all of the levels within a thread, sometimes I can't follow the pattern in a thread or find a post, and I'd like it to be more user-friendly. Can a brotha get an "AMEN?"
