View Full Version : Serious Question for Mr. Pogue and Mr. Thompson

I'm sorry guys this might be an annoying post, but I had a thougth this weekend that I wanted to share. Here are the points that led me to this.

1. From what I can tell Randy Pogue should be having eye surgery over the winter. So he probably would like to fight again in the spring??

2. Randy has stepped up in weight lately.

3. Jason Reeves has made an attempt to apologize for his behavior and would like the opportunity to present himself as a credible fighter.

My questions are:

1. Would Randy Pogue fight Jason Reeves as a tune up fight?
2. Would the IKF allow Jason Reeves to fight again?
3. Considering the timing would Ray Thompson offer Jason Reeves the opportunity to redeem himself by allowing him to fight Randy on his spring card? (Probably for only the expenses of himself(Jason) and a trainer considering the past episode and for the fact he wants to prove himself as a professional fighter) *Of course paying Randy a standard Pro purse*

No, Drew. I really don't see how it is of any benefit to me, or anyone, to give Jason any more exposure. While it is great to get ring time in front of a big group, you could pull anyone off of the street and they would be a more credible opponent, on paper, than Jason.

That being said, I'd love to fight on Ray's show. I suppose, if there is no one out there to fight besides Jason, fighting is better than not fighting. But I really don't think the kickboxing ranks are that thin.

No to offend you Andrew, but Randy Pogue and Jason Reeves two names should not even be mentioned in the same sentence! There is nothing serious about this question. Jason Reeves still has not fought anyone that we are aware of as of this date. Unless you want to call his brief encounter with Stephen Thompson a fight. I would rather pay to see Randy fight Craig's sister as mentioned in earlier posts! Randy Pogue has a kickboxing record of something like 18-3-1/3 and a Pro Boxing Record of 8-3/2. How has Jason Reeves (with a 0-1/0 Pro Kickboxing Record) earned the right to step in the ring with Randy Pogue. Jason’s only claim to fame is that of his lost to Stephen. Did he earn the right to be in the ring with Stephen? I think not! He lied to get this bout. Ray Thompson puts on some awesome shows. For any fighter, it is a privilege to fight on his card. Does Jason Reeves deserve to be part of that?

Sincerely, Michael Dean

Shhh...I don't want Craig to hear this but...I might be willing to fight Jason Reeves, even for free, if I could go a few rounds with Craig's sister.

Michael, no offense taken.

I agree with you 100%, but I was curious at the thought.

NO Offense to Randy, but I figured that could be a tune up fight to test his eyes out....but I'm sure his sparring will be harder than the fight would be!

I also agree that any dealing with the Thompsons would be a privilage for anyone in kickboxing, in my short conversations with Ray he has been a very professional and sincere person to speak with.

DrewK,
Don't worry about it, I thought it was a pretty good idea. Start having everyone fighting everyone like in the original K-1 years. Brainstorming fights is a great idea. Maybe more of us should be doing it. This fight probably wouldn't last very long but still it would be a pro fight that could fill a slot on a card. "A" for effort. :D
