I think it would help the sport of kickboxing a lot if Mark Selbee were able to unify the Super Heavyweight division for all major sanctioning bodies. Dennis Alexio did this in the late 1980s and was at the time considered the true undisputed champion.

Currently, the WKA Super Heavyweight World Championship title is vacant. The number one contender listed is Almaz Gismeev (Russia) (?). Why not have Mark Selbee and Almaz Gismeev fight for both the IKF and WKA titles? Maybe the ISKA would step up to the plate with a challenger as well. If kickboxing could get a single super heavyweight champion across all major sanctioning bodies under full contact rules it might bring back the fans! The WKA clearly needs some help in promoting its heavyweight fighters. They still have Dennis Alexio listed as an Intercontinenal Champion and he hasn't fought for the WKA in over 6 years!

I live in Santa Monica, CA now and don't have the cash to rent the civic center. If I ever strike it rich I'll get into the promotion business. Hopefully, there are some promoters out there that would be interested. I hope Mr. Selbee's manager is thinking along these lines. It would be great for both the sport and Mr. Selbee. :D

I think the (other) sactioning bodies would be the one's to gain if Selby fought for them. I am not sure what Selby would gain? Unless someone would finely come up with some real money for a change. Without TV and sponsors your unification idea's won't work for the sport or the IKF. I know for a fact that Mr. Selby would fight for other titles if there is something to gain. He is the Real Deal!

Wolfeman, thanks for the kind words. I am open for anything right now. I took a couple of weeks of and am back in the gym now. Unification is doubtful, just too many politics involved. Regardless, I hope to fight again soon.

Respectfully,

Selbee

Sorry to hear that politics is still ruining the sport. That's why the PKA got all messed up. I just think that a unification title would be good for the sport, but I understand. I know Dennis stopped fighting for the ISKA because they kept offering him 20 to 30k less than what he could make fighting at home in Honolulu (70k). I understand that it's hard to find promoters that pay 70k but it's insulting to be asked to fight someone for so much less than you can make staying at home. Keep knocking people out in Atlanta and pretty soon they'll all be begging you to sanction your title fights. Are you considering K1 because I know the money is there for heavyweights? Just curious.
