Is anyone going to the USKBA championships?

Has anyone competed in the USKBA open championships before? I am considering taking a few fighters for the muay thai division, but would love to hear some feedback of how the previous tournaments went before I register any fighters. Thanks

Sherri--you're talking about the one in December in Rahway, NJ, right?
I fought at the USKBA tournament in 2002 and 2004--both were good experiences. It's smaller than the IKF tournament, but still a good time.

Jenna-were there plenty of female fighters? You know how it is if you take females to a tournament-you never know if they will actually get to fight. I can't afford to take off a weekend and put the time into getting sponsors to help pay for the travel expenses if I don't know if my girl will even get to fight. Thanks!

The MTR fights were on a different day than the FCR fights, so I didn't see those-- not sure if there were a lot of females there. If I were you, I'd contact Paul Rosner or the director of the MTR fights at the tournament, Vladimir Borodin (sp?)-- I think he's the one who will be making the matches.

There weren't a lot of female FCR fighters, but if you register early, they will probably work to get your girls matches.
