Just wanted people to be aware of an amazing middle weight fighter that is well on his way to making an impact on this sport. His name is Thomas "Thunderkick" Longacre. On Saturday November the 12th at the Brady Theatre in Tulsa, OK Thomas got a chance to fight Jeremy "Lionheart" Harminson. Thomas won all of the first 3 rounds including a knockdown in the second round. In the third round Harminson appeared to have pulled a groin muscle yet finished the round. Harminson eventually was unable to answer the bell and Thomas won by TKO. Thomas was clearly the better fighter and controlled the fight. This particular fight was apperantly not sanctioned by the IKF or Harminson would no longer be able to lay clain to the US title
Keep your eyes on Thomas "Thunderkick" Longacre, and believe the hype. This guy is good!

I think Longacre fought at the Dallas World Combat League event on October 8 and he won his two rounds against Takuhiro "Kamikazi' Kamikozono.

Yes, Thomas did fight in Dallas and fought a very fast, tough and athletic type of bout. He is a highly skilled, exciting fighter. He is surely on the road to stardom especially in the WCL.

Is there a video of this fight out there yet? I would love to see it! Jeremy is a great fighter, and knowing this (and not having seen Longacre fight) I almost have to wonder if he was sore going into the fight and then pulled the muscle? Nevertheless, my hats off to Longacre...beating Jeremy is not an easy task, especially knocking him down too.
What weight was the fight at, light middle or middle? And was it Muay Thai rules?

There is no video of the fight out yet. My guess is it wont go public untell December before the next Oklahoma Fight.
It was a middle weight fight. Kickboxing rules. Harminson did not appear to have any limitations going into the fight, other than maybe over looking a solid opponent. Harminson came out fast in the 1st round apperantly trying to make a statement, but over and over again Jeremy came up on the short end of exchanges. Thomas was faster, stronger, and younger and it really showed.
This was a great fight and hopefully a launching pad for "Thunderkick".

I don't want to discount the victory by Jeremy's opponent at all, nor do I want to sound like I am making excuses for a fighter that would never have anyone make an excuse for him. However, to set the record straight, Jeremy slightly injured his groin a few months ago, and has been having chronic irritations since, even complaining to me about it in training a week and a half before his fight. So he was going into this bout already with a degree of injury. In the same token, all fighters go in a little banged up. This time, though, it was a considerable setback for him. Congrats to his opponent on the win. I'm sure Jeremy will be back in the ring when he recovers and is injury free. Take care.

He wasn't Randy. Jimmy was merely explaining the injury, as I had asked in the previous post.

I was at the fight. Jeremy certainly did not underestimate this fighter. I had Jeremy up 2 rounds until he pulled his groin. The kid wasn't a bad fighter, but no where near the caliber he should be with his record. Jeremy healthy will demolish this guy. Trust me.
"This particular fight was apperantly not sanctioned by the IKF or Harminson would no longer be able to lay clain to the US title."
--Do you understand how the whole title thing works???
--This fight could not have been a title fight - it was 5 2 MINUTE ROUNDS.
"Thomas was faster, stronger, and younger and it really showed."
--Not even close. If he was stronger, he would have taken Jeremy out. Jeremy was not able to throw punches or kicks, all he could do was stand and block and the guy couldn't knock him down. He had no power on his punches.
The punch that knocked Jeremy down was a flash knockdown with Jeremy off balance.
Pete - we have a copy of the tape, if you'd like to see it. Congrats on your win - I hear you looked pretty good!
Anyone else who wants to see if before it's released can send me some cash, and I'll happily send them a copy.

Hi Kourtney!
Welcome to the board! Yea, I guessed this was how the fight went down. I would love to see the tape for myself. I will email you tomorrow and send some $$. What is Longacre's record anyway, I had never heard of him, and what rules was it? Irishguts replied by saying 'kickboxing' rules...ok, which ones? lol. Was it Muay Thai?
Thanks for the words on my fight. I was not happy with it once I saw the tape. I was soooo stressed with putting on the show and actually got a touch of the flu on fight day. So, I was worried about gassing out. I picked hi apart...every jab connected, leg kicks folded him a bit, and three head kicks landed solid (he has a hard head, I will give him that), but I wish I had felt better and pressured him more. I am sure I could have gotten the knock out if I tried harder. He was a total A$$ afterwards, thinking he won, and swearing at the Referee. But it is done, and I got the 'W', so back to the training and see when I can do it again.
How did your fights go in Fort Wayne? Didn't Raul put on fights there last weekend?
Got your email about Julie winning Hook-n-Shoot..that is awesome. Sounds like she is doing great!
Later!

I watched the fight again last night. There is no way Jeremy won 2 rounds!! Thomas won the first, third and fourth rounds and knocked Jeremy down in the second round. You do the math!
You make Jeremy sound like he needed the "march of dimes" during this fight. He brought his game and did not win.
I would love to see a re-match so I dont have to hear how Jeremy came in as a paraplegic and still won 2 rounds.

Why don't we try to keep things on a professional level here? One hears about it all the time in boxing. For example, "Jones injured his right hand in sparring two weeks before the fight." Or maybe, "Hopkins is visibly less mobile from an ankle injury" Things like this we always hear about. Yet we never accuse Larry Merchant of making excuses for a fighter. It simply is fact. So before we go using ridiculous hyperboles(the march of dimes comment) in a vain attempt to make someone look foolish, let us just leave it at this...there was a great fight which people have different views on. One of the fighters went in with a considerable setback. Maybe one day we will get to see this great fight again, with both fighters completely healthy. Any sarcasm in lieu of insults is just a waste of space on this board.
