I am typing this because the arthritis in Zack's hands make it impossible for him to type it himself.
Nick Gill would you please give this guy a chance to fight for the world title. He is 44 years old, but you can ask ANY of his opponents he is more than a worthy contender. In April, Augusta GA. hosts the MASTERS Golf tournament. It is like Carnival for our city. People from all over the world come here to enjoy the MASTERS golf tournament. After the tournament they are looking for fun and exciting things to do. I am positive that we could easily sell 3000 tickets for this event. Since the world's elite will be here to experience the culture and charm of our southern U.S. city, what better way to do it than by watching an Augusta Ga. native make a final stab at finally fighting for a world title. The clientele that will be here at the time have no problem paying a premium for great entertainment. I am also willing to help any promoter that is willing to promote that event absolutely FREE. I have extensive networking and promoting experience in this town. I am also former liscenced promoter myself and would love to do this simply to help my friend Zack get his chance at a world title. If you are a promoter and would like to finally host a profitable event this would be it! John Greubel and Stevie Dement are also pro kickboxers that live in Augusta and could easily sell 1000 tickets a piece themselves. Since I own my own gym I also have several other local fighters that would draw tons of friends and family to come to the show. It would be a win/win for everybody. If you are interested please message me back or call my gym at 706-737-0911 |

Mark: I agree 100 %!!!! I will help sell tickets, basically do what I can do or be told what to do to help. If it means going to local companies to ask for sponsorships........I am there! I also see that the IR World Championship @ 147 is vacant and available for the taking. If Nick( no disrepect to you) does not want to fight Zack then maybe Maddog would step up and fight Zack for the vacant 147 IR World Title. This is just a thought. I believe he is unbeatable at 147. Prove me wrong!
For those out there Augusta Ga is the place to be during Masters week. Big time Celeb's. Big time money being spent.......our town is the S$*T for one week out of the year. Hopefully someone will step up and promote this one. And by the way, Zack was giving back to the community today doing a food drive on the radio for one of the food banks. Great fighter and and an asset to our community. Talk it up guys, lets get something going for Zack and see who steps up! Larry Last edited by LMITCHUM : 11-20-2009 at 02:06 PM. |

Maddog: It is good to hear you say you are up for a fight if things fall apart with Gill and thanks for the remarks. Please give the credit to Mark Greubel for the Augusta idea, he started the post. One thing for sure, you are always up and ready to rumble. This why I feel it would be a good one b/t you and Zack because both of you are always ready to go!!! Need more guys like you!!

Hi
I'm pretty sure that Nick would listen seriously to any offers for him to defend his title. If anyone has an offer they wish to make to Nick I would be more than happy to pass it onto to his trainer/manager Trevor Spencer My e-mail is tkokickboxing@hotmail.co.uk regards Colin Payne IKF- UK |

Mr. Richie Plant has told me that he is willing to take charge of the promotions of this event. So as long as Nick is willing, it looks like this fight might be on!
I will have Richie contact Nick's trainer so we can get the ball rolling. Thanks for responding Mr. Payne. On a side note will your team be participating in next years IKF tournament? |

Mr. Greubel, I have been following kickboxing for some time now and have never posted on this site until now. Something about your posts bothered enough to get an account and respond. If your fighters/local fighters are able to sell 2000 tickets easy, then why don't you promote the event yourself? 2000 tickets is a lot of tickets and a lot of money for any promoter. Seems to me that at even 15 dollars a ticket, your looking at 30k and I can't imagine any kickboxing event (even pros with titles) going above 20k. Seems to me like you have a real money maker here or you are misleading potential promoters about your abilities and that of your pro fighters to sell tickets. I know that if I knew I could get 10k profit for 12 weeks work I would do it! I guess what I'm getting at here is, it is time for large gyms like yours to put up or shut up with regards to promoting and growing your fighters and the sport! You have a draw (your fighters), a local connection, (your gym) a local audience (your members), etc... You should promote the shows yourself. i apologize if these remarks are harsh but, as far as I can tell my statements are true!

Mr. KickboxingMI,
I am sorry you feel so negatively towards me. I wish I knew who you were so I could just talk to you directly about all of this, but since you didn't leave your real name or any way of contacting you I will attempt to resolve the issues that have bothered you enough to make you so angry as to actually create an account and voice your opinion of me to everyone. I am the owner of a large gym of which I just opened a few years ago, this is true. It is also true that I could make a lot of money throwing a great show like this. I also have a great group of local fighters that would draw good crowds. You were correct about all the things that were true about what you thought of my situation. However, there are other things in my situation that are also true. I am currently teaching morning classes, then study for a couple of hours and then go directly to school to earn my marketing degree. After I get out of school I come straight back to the gym to teach until sometimes 10:30 at night. In between all of this I try to balance family time with my wife and 2 kids. On the weekends I am usaully busy traveling with fighters to different fights or tournaments if I am not teaching. This weekend will be no different. I will be in NYC cornering one of my fighters. You see Mr. kicboxingMI the priorities in my life at present are my family, my business, my fighters, my education. I am planning to promote one day, but I don't get out of school until after this show is supposed to take place. Promoting is not one of my priorities at present it would be foolish of me to attempt to take on such a huge event as my first attempt at promoting a martial arts show. I have promoted in this town before, but it was for promoting live music, so I do have connections in the local media which would help any promoter. I also have lived here my whole life, which means I have a pretty good understanding of the market here. Trying to organize this type of event with 0 experience, however, would not only be foolish, it would be completely irresponsible. I would assume you are a promoter since you know how long it takes to promote shows, and since you know how much money you can make on an event like this. I also assume that you understand that it takes a great deal of starting capital to throw an event like this, of which, I don't presently have the luxury. I think the responsible thing for me to do would be leave this to someone who has a bit more experience than myself, would you not agree? Even though I might be able to make a quick 10 grand or whatever, Zack day is a really good friend of mine and I would not want to botch his shot at a world title because of greed. I would also not want any cowards hiding behind a fake name slinging mud at me or saying that I rigged his fight because Zack is one of my fighters. So until I get out of school promoting is not even going to be a consideration. Well, you must excuse me I have to go to class now. I hope all of this was helpful and quenched your anger towards me. I will leave with one piece of advice for you Mr. Kickboxing MI. "Grow a set coward, and use your real name next time". I apologize if these remarks are harsh but, as far as I can tell my statements are true! |

Mr.KickboxingMI: ( With a name like this, kinda makes me wonder if your ego is well............OUT THERE
)I guess what I'm getting at here is, it is time for large gyms like yours to put up or shut up with regards to promoting and growing your fighters and the sport! You have a draw (your fighters), a local connection, (your gym) a local audience (your members), etc... You should promote the shows yourself. i apologize if these remarks are harsh but, as far as I can tell my statements are true! I wish you would tell everybody your name......anyways Mark is great person, trainer and overall nice guy. He is committed to his family, education and his students. Much more wonderful things can be said about this man and he has some great talent in his school. BUT this post is really not about Mark, but you did make some assumptions about a friend of mine and your comments are totally uncalled for, period. This post is ABOUT DAY VS GILL, if you are so concerned about this fight, then help out and talk it up. Please do not put down what others are trying to achieve to PROMOTE A GREAT FIGHT. Perhaps you should read the post about Ritchie Plant possibly promoting this fight. Never met the man, but hats off to him!!! Maybe you did not read Colin Payne's response that Gill may listen to any serious offers. THIS IS GREAT STUFF for kickboxing. In you are going to make comments like the one below, be a Man and sign your real name. By the way, my name is at the bottom. Larry Mitchum |
