Now we're just getting into semantics.
WCL IS NOT kickboxing. I think its great for the sport but, it penalizes those with mobility and the ability to make people miss. (passivity) It penalizes for those counter fighters. (passivity) It penalizes for those attempting to use strategy and patience. (passivity) I'm sure that I could fight enough fights to be a PRO if I wanted to kickbox, box, and fight in MMA but, I want to turn PRO to kickbox. What I was pointing out Jon, was that they are under contract with the WCL and cannot take a fight within 30 days of their upcoming WCL fight, in case of possible knockout, and vice versa. So, since they had fights every 30-45 days for 6 months in a row, more for those whose teams made the playoffs, they could not ethically take an outside fight.
Now, I agree with you that the WCL is not kickboxing, and as I stated earlier, I wish it could be rated differently, for fighters that try it. These guys that did fight on the WCL teams last year were trying to get it going, at least it was something that was attempting to give a steady income for fighters. There is no fight sport that can do that right now.
