Does this rule apply to female fighters in the ISCF?

I have not been kicked in the groin during a kickboxing bout, I have however, been kicked in the groin, more then once, with a direct shot as a child and as a teenager. It hurt like no tomorrow, HOWEVER, I dont think it was any more painful then a direct shot anywhere else. It did not drop me like a shot to the groin does a guy whos anatomy is "hanging out". It made it painful, for a couple of hours, to sit but it did not "damage" me as I went on to have 3 children without any problems.
I think it is not that a hard kick would damage the reproductive system as much as it causes numbness or pain just like a bruise would anywhere else until it heals. Sensativity in that area may be affected until healed, but causing a woman to not have a child?? Highly unlikely, our reproductive organs are well hidden and well padded. "Boxingdoc" has the advantage of being not only in the medical profession but also has experience as a fighter. Why not listen to her?

THE ANSWER...
Today we had a discussion with the California State Athletic/Boxing Commission. It is now official that female pelvic protectors are "NOT" required by them. We also spoke to the Nevada State Athletic/Boxing Commission. Nevada's position on it is they "Encourage" them but they are "NOT" Mandatory. This was also the new ruling from other commissions we spoke to over the past few days. Due to this finding, the new "Official" ruling on this for IKF Kickboxing is; "Female Pelvic Protectors are 'Encouraged' but are NOT Mandatory for amateur and professional female kickboxers fighting on IKF Sanctioned events." Thank you ALL for your input on this topic. Sincerely IKF Kickboxing |
