Finished a workout this morning at Greubels MMA and I saw a belt from the WAKO contest from this past weekend on display. Asked Mark about it and he stated that he was given this belt as trainer of the year from the WAKO organization. Just wanted to give the man the props he deserves because the Greubels Brothers and their staff have one hell of a studio. Both of these gentlemen represent the sport well and are putting out a lot of up and coming fighters. They have some great trainers there: Zack Day, Stevie Dement, Chris ( BJJ dude), Sam and some others cats. Great place to train, Mark is extremely talented when it comes to training the children, and there are some great current IKF Champions in the juniors......cannot wait to see them turn into adult fighters, talk about future Pro's.
I cannot wait to see how the Greubel's camp does this year at the IKF Worlds. I predict several belts will be coming back to Augusta, Ga. Later, Larry |

I'd like to add some words on Mark's behalf. Talk about a person who lives, eats, and sleeps kick boxing. I've been around fighters and trainers my whole life but I don't think I've ever known anyone with the commitment and love for combat sport that is had by Mark. He takes pride in his students/fighters in a way that you don't really see anymore. He instills his God given talents and hard work ethic in everyone who'll listen. It doesn't matter if he's working with a brand new student or a seasoned pro, Mark's excitement and enthusiasm shows through every time. Simply stated, it's an honor to work alongside someone of his caliber.

Great words Stevie,
One of the things that helped Mark get the award was the way he inspired one of his young fighters in the Jr World Championships in Croatia against fighters with 50-70 fights and came back with a silver medal. What a great coach and person. Congrats Mark |

Larry,
Thank you for the kind words, however, I believe you may have misunderstood me when I was explaining the awards. (classic signs of A.G.E./ loss of hearing, short term memory loss) Just kiding Larry! One of my students, NATHAN KEY, recieved the award for Jr. FIGHTER of the year. I recieved an award for excellence in coaching, not trainer of the year. Just wanted to clarify that because I do not like taking credit for something I didn't earn. |

On behalf of Craig Smith,
I would like to Thank the Greubel's Mark & John for helping out my Team at the South Carolinia event. Nelson Lebron went to the the evnt on a weeks notice after getting back from duty in Germany.I was unable to accompany Nelson to the evnt due to another event I had already committed myself to in Delaware. I asked Mark to work my corner for me and he said yes and did an outstanding job. Nelson and myself along with Team Smith want to THANK the Greubel's once again for helping not only my Team but the sport we love. Mark & John Greuble "TWO CLASS ACTS" Sincerely Craig Smith |

Mark: Memory loss, old age, having your brother train me privately, doing morning classes with Zack has made me well.........incapable of hearing, having any kind of memory, and performing at any level of training. Perhaps I need to begin to train with the 4 year olds, only problem is I can not kick that high.
On a more serious note, I due apologize to you for mishearing and misunderstanding. I only hope I did not bring any problems for you in the kickboxing world. I also apologize to the WAKO for the misunderstanding. My Bad, Larry |
