Every so often there's an IKF news article listing a few big name fighters that got their start in the IKF: Chuck Liddell, Carter Williams, Rick Roufus, Duane Ludwig, and more. Well I think it's time to add another to the list...IKF Champion Nate Mohr.

I just read on MMAweekly.com that Mohr is scheduled to fight Ultimate Fighter Season 5 runner-up Manny Gamburyan at UFC 79, Dec. 29th. This will be his third fight in the octagon.

Mohr had an amateur kickboxing record of 8-1 he also captured the IKF Middleweight Midwest Title (IR) and the IKF Middleweight North Central Title (FCR).

I had the privilege of facing Nate 3 years ago on one of Russ O'Connell's shows in Waterloo, IA shortly after starting my kickboxing career. I've also fought on the same card as him a few times; Nate is a very tough fighter and an awesome person. I wish him the best with his journey in the UFC and mixed martial arts.
