Angry Something is wrong with the Site

So...there is only 80 members after a week online. Maybe we can do better to get outreach to folks. Why aren't people signing up?

What could be the reason people don't sing up?

Joe

I agree, Joe.
The board isn't nearly as interesting and fun to read now. Makes me wonder if censorship is a good thing. When people talk smack (I'm not talking about starting vicious rumors, just smack talking) about other people, other organizations, it starts a lively debate that's fun to read and participate in.
Don't get me wrong, I love the camaraderie also, but a kickboxing board that is one big happy love fest isn't what the IKF message board used to be.
Sad to say it, but this board has become boring.
Hopefully more people will sign up soon and it'll start getting more interesting.

Hi,

I believe the new layout takes away from the old board that everyone one were used to. I bet over time the new board will catch on. I also don't think it is due to censorship that there is not many signing up. A person can still make an e-mail address that they can use if they wanted to and still not be recognized. I think the way the old board was set up it let people post severel post from the same person useing different names. I read many of the post from the old board and you could tell many people did it by looking at their spelling and sentence structure. I am no expert just like to read. I also noticed from the old board that there were many of the same people posting. I believe it will pick up after everyone gets the hang of the new lay out. Just my 2 cents.

Cool Re: Something wrong?

"Something is wrong with the site?"

Come on Joe, that's pretty funny. Whats so wrong about 80 people in 1 week? Not enough conversation...

80 is actually pretty good for no advertising and from what we have been told, on a board like this where everyone must join, 80 is way above average for the first week. Also, keep in mind, many of the people who posted on the board before were posting negative things, and things that will turn into a **** here if written. Not to mention the IKF vs ABC wars that were going on from unknown posters. All of those Message Board "BATTLES" are gone. this can mean less traffic but better messages. As of today, our stress level here at IKF has dropped 500% in dealing with editing the board every 10 minutes.

We have a lot of requirements to be a member of this board, "MAINLY" due to the issues that happened on the last one. We feel this is more important than a zillion members right now. Maybe we are wrong, but everyone before wanted accountability. Well, now we have it and everyone seems pleased.

For whatever reasons, many people like "DRAMA". Negative dirt, tabloid issues etc. etc. Well as we all know, the other board had a lot more of that. But we probably won't see any of that at all here because people will now be held accountable for their comments. I do believe you were one of the people saying this was important, correct? Well, it's a trade off Joe. We can't seem to have both apparently.

We here at the IKF liked when something negative was posted about us that was a justified complaint because it forced us to improve or fix whatever needed to be fixed or improved. However, we will no longer have this privledge which is a shame in itself. Hopefully the board will continue to succeed, but without the fun and excitment of the daily drama we were all able to read in the past.

Sincerely
IKF Kickboxing

Default Re: Drama Forum?

Don't take this wrong but maybe we could add a forum link for say, "Adults only" that can be more loose and allow more drama like fight challenges, justified attacks... .
But how could we allow this? How would we, or would we moniter it at all? would we allow people to register under 2 usernames, one legit and one not? What would be the backlashes of such a forum? Would the previous abuse start again?

We don't even know how it would be possible. Worse yet, we may get back the rude posters of before that posted stuff totally unrelated to kickboxing and more so about, well you know, por...no etc. These posters are what forced us to this board format in the first place, "NOT" the no name posters that added the drama to the board.

We agree in some ways that we DO NOT like the "Love Fest" posting and the board has become... boring . We too like the excitment of the DRAMA and even some of the attacks and fight challenges.

But "WHAT" can be done?

Ideas... Suggestions?

Suggestion
To make it more exciting we could have a "I hate Sanda" section and people could argue with David Ross. It's a JOKE, I like San da. I am not sure I understand the terminology of San Da and San Sho, different dialects etc? formal not formal? It is fun to watch.
Anyway, on a different note I hate Philidelphia for getting lucky and beating the Vikings last night. Moss is WAY better than Owens.

C'mon Geek. The Vikings had no shot last night. Luck had nothing to do with it. Moss wasn't a factor at all. Hate us if you must, but don't mess. Along those lines, most silly Philly people are already planning the Superbowl victory parade. I, on the other hand, am sticking to more traditional Philly attitude roots. I'm patiently waiting for the Eagles to self-destruct and ruin our hopes until next season rolls around.
Not that our self-destruction will ever involve being beaten by the Vikings, though.

The reason they had no shot last night was the crappy officiating...you must agree.. bad calls. If the same Refs were officiating the Hopkins fight they would have counted Bernard out after he knocked Oscar down, The same refs were counting votes in Florida in 2000 (i knew you would like that). I hope we play again in post season and we get unbiased refs..ok and a MN QB that doesn't fumble..but I will throw the gauntlet and challenge your silly Philly team.

Boy, I don't know Geek...I watched most of that game and the Vikings let that one slip by. Even if the officiating was bad, they made mistakes: Culpepper had them close and did not make it once, then he ran one in just to be called back because his guys were holding, and then he had them close and fumbled (heck, he fumbled a few times, didn't he?) Had they capitalized on those three plays alone, it would have been a different ballgame. Just my observation..I am a die hard Bears fan myself (hey, we are 2-0..beat Green Bay AT GREEN BAY, YEAH BABY!)
