As Steven matures physically as a fighter, I wonder if he will gain enough weight to make it to the heavyweight class? If he does, he may have a better selection of fighters. Any comments from the other fans.

I have no idea, but I think it would be fun to see him fight at that weight if he doesn't lose speed. Would fights be easier or more difficult to get for him as a heavyweight?
If he goes on my diet from the past couple weeks, it wouldn't take him long to reach heavyweight. Although it would require cake, ice cream, beer, pizza, candy, and doing nothing active. It has been a fun couple of weeks, but I feel FAT. fight geek |

He's EASILY a top 10 heavyweight right now. I just don't know if he's at the point physically where he can move up and down in weight and feel comfortable making the adjustments in style. If he gets there, though, that will open up alot of opportunities for opponents. He might not be the right size to be a player in a heavyweight title fight, but he could definitely build his record with most of the chumps in the division.

After fighting middleweight most of my fighting life, I took a break and came back taking fights at cruiser and heavyweight. If you can take a shot, I personally think it is easier to fight bigger guys due to the speed slowing down. It sucks to be thinking the fight could end on one punch, BUT at least you can usually see that punch coming LOL.
I've never seen Thompson fight, but if he has the speed and skills that I hear he does, I see no reason why he could not make it in heavy. I think super-heavy may be out of range ONLY because he may face some guys too tall for him to be effective. |

I've only seen him fight once but he appears to have the bone structure to hold more weight. That is one of the most important things in gaining weight as a fighter. Can you're body support the weight round after round. He's got big time power so I say go for it. I'm sure he'll stay at this weight for a while but as he matures he may want to think about moving up in weight in order to get bigger paydays. JMO

The talk about the Wonderboy fighting as a heavy weight is probably not too far off course for him in the future. He will turn 22 in feb so he is young which means there will be time to mature and put on natural weight. He walks around at 185ish (light cruiser wt). He has fought all three of his pro fights in the Cruiser wt (186.1-195) division. There are not many fighters in his natural division that he should be fighting at this stage in his career. We will eventully hook up with Mike Nevitt when the Wonderboy is ready, which he is not. We give Mr. Nevitt all the respect in the world for he has obviously proven himself in this great game of kickboxing. If he stays in the game it is inevitable that he and the Wonderboy fight for the title that he now owns. That is if the Wonderboy stays on course, which he seems to be doing a good job of. Anyway thanks for all the posts about the Wonderboy. We really appreciate the interest. By the way we are talking about his return to Canada in feb or march. I will keep you posted.
