IKF Event Representative or Associates
Duties

What the Promoter Is Paying For...

  1. It is the duty of the IKF Representative to oversee ALL ASPECTS of the event from the front door to the ring.
  2. Once at the city/town of the event, the official IKF Event Representative or Associate shall meet with the event promoter(s) and his/her promotional team to review the event and duties of officials & staff. The IKF Event Representative or Associate shall offer assistance, advice or requirements to the event promoter, event staff, officials, trainers and fighters to make the event a complete success.
  3. The outcome of any IKF event is under the direction of the IKF Event Representative or Associate. It is his/her duty to be aware of all aspects of each detail of any event from the beginning of the event until the entire event is over.
  4. To approve or deny all staff and officials of the event: If any non IKF officials are scheduled for the event, an officials meeting shall be scheduled prior to the event for these officials to review the IKF bout scoring guidelines, rules and regulations.
  5. To administer the official weigh-ins: During the event weigh-ins, the IKF Representative or Associate and or the IKF Scorekeeper shall attain all fighter information for the official IKF fighters information fight file and assure that all facts given are true and correct. The IKF Representative or Associate shall witness the weigh-in of each bout/fighter for proper weight.
  6. IF A PRO EVENT: The Official IKF Representative or Associate must collect IN FULL All Pro fighters purses DIRECTLY AFTER the Official Weigh-IN and BEFORE the Official Rules Meeting. This shall be collected in the form of "CERTIFIED BANK - CASHIERS CHECKS" made out to EACH fighter. If these checks are NOT given to the Official IKF event Representative or Associate by the promoter DIRECTLY AFTER the WEIGH-INS, it is the Official Duty of the Official IKF Representative or Associate to immediately CANCEL the event. The fighters NEED to know NOW if they are getting paid or not and the Promoter should fully understand this as well.
  7. To conduct the official rules meeting. The IKF Representative or Associate shall hold an official IKF pre-event rules meeting. This meeting will outline all IKF rules and regulations for the event for all fighters AND TRAINERS. This meeting shall be AFTER the weigh-ins and is MANDATORY for ALL FIGHTERS and TRAINERS who will be at Ringside and working the corner of their fighters bout.
  8. To assure ALL FIGHTERS and REFEREES Receive a Complete Pre Fight Physical. When the fighters arrive at the venue for the event, they must all receive a complete pre-fight physical by a licenses "MD" (Medical Doctor, NOT a chiropractor or med student or paramedic) to determine if or not each fighter is in good physical condition for their bout. If not, the MD shall withdraw the fighter from the event. The IKF Requires each MD to provide their own physical exam paperwork to assure they have checked all items as required by the MD giving the physical. An example of "Some" of these items to be checked are fighters Blood Pressure, Heart Beat and general physical appearance along with the many other items the MD will require for his/her complete pre-fight physical.
  9. See that all IKF rules and regulations are followed by all individuals governed by such in regards to before and after the event.
  10. Assist if asked by the promoter a bout order that will present the event at its best.
  11. To assist if asked by the promoter the seating placement of all ringside officials.
  12. Fill out all official IKF scorecards before the start of the event for all the bouts.
  13. Oversee at ringside during the event the actions of all ringside officials to assure all official IKF rules and regulations are followed.
  14. To tally all scorecards and present to the ring announcer the official decision.
  15. To assure that the promoter has done his/her best to provide a quality event for both the spectators and the fighters.
  16. To assure the safety of all fighters by observing all safety equipment required such as fighters equipment (below) ring lighting, ring condition (ropes, mat, stairs etc.) and medical equipment at ringside.
  17. Approve all safety equipment of all fighters.
  18. Oversee each bout for fairness to fighters, trainers and officials.
  19. To assist with the referee(s) any decisions necessary in regards to fouls etc.
  20. To administer advice to any judge if scoring does not seem accurate.
  21. Unless an IKF Scorekeeper is attending the event, the IKF Representative or Associate shall at ringside, keep all official scores, notes, comments and results of all fighters and bouts in regards to recommendation of rankings, fouls, fines, penalties, awards etc. on the Official IKF Scorecard Sheets.
  22. Present any and all title belts to the winners of each title UNLESS the promoter desires himself or others to do so.
  23. Determining an honest and official IKF ranking for each fighter in their fighting division.
  24. To pay ALL PRO Fighters (See # 8 Above) in full their purses as contracted to them by the promoter.
  25. Assure that all officials are paid the minimum IKF fees OR the fees agreed to them by the promoter unless other arrangements have been made.
  26. Collect from the promoter any additional fees due for Title Belts or fines before leaving the event.
  27. Unless coming back to the IKF Headquarters, the IKF Event Representative or Associate will send all official IKF event information (Scorecards, fighters info cards, event video, misc. notes if any) back to the IKF Headquarters so the event can be properly logged into the official IKF event files and all fighters ranked in the official IKF rankings.
  28. After the event, the Representative will be required to do a brief write-up about the event for posting on the IKF News page. This write-up will include the results of all the bouts and any additional information such as attendance to individual bout comments. The IKF Representative will e-mail their article to the IKF and also e-mail the complete stats of each fighter to the IKF. In addition, the IKF Event Representative will be required to mail to the IKF all the fighter bout sheets for rankings and records.

What the Promoter Pays the IKF Event Representative For the Work Above...

IKF President Steve Fossum is also available to attend events as the Official IKF Representative. However, due to Mr. Fossum's IKF Travel Schedule, he is obviously not able to attend all IKF events. Those choosing to have Mr. Fossum attend their events as the official IKF Representative can book Mr. Fossum in advance.


TRAVEL FEES

The Promoter is Also Responsible for All Travel Expenses and Accommodations for the Official IKF Event Representative or Associate which includes;


PROMOTERS: Please DO NOT Leave your IKF Representative WAITING at the Airport. Your IKF Event Representative is required to complete an EVENT EVALUATION REPORT after your event. Low marks on items like Meeting Times (Meeting at the airport, weigh-in times, etc. etc.) Event Crew, Hotel Accommodations, Hospitality as well as the overall event itself could mean fines to you, higher future sanctioning fees or the denial of IKF Sanctioning for your future events.


PROMOTERS...
PLEASE DO NOT
Force your Officials to sit around and WAIT for you to pay them or for them to approach you to be paid. No one likes to ask for their money. BE RESPONSIBLE and PROFESSIONAL and make sure you pay your officials IMMEDIATELY after your event. They worked hard to make your event possible.

IKF OFFICIALS - GUIDELINES

  1. All IKF Event officials shall be employed by the promoter at all IKF sanctioned events and shall be approved by the IKF directly.
  2. Each official must know all rules and regulations for an IKF kickboxing event. To find properly qualified officials, contact the local athletic commission or work with the IKF directly to select the best qualified officials for each position.
  3. The IKF reserves all rights to deny or appoint all necessary officials if the promoter's selections do not meet the required qualifications of the IKF.
  4. Any official found under the influence of ANY drug or alcohol immediately prior to, during or within 1 hour after the event (Alcohol only prior and during the match, not after) shall be fined by the IKF $500.00 and banned by the IKF.
  5. Any official at an IKF event shall give permission to the IKF for drug testing before or after any bout, amateur or pro and especially if the bout is a title match.
  6. ALL officials must be pre-approved and licensed by the IKF "UNLESS" other IKF approved officials in the Promoters area are available for the event.
