  • June 13th, 2002, Mexico City, Mexico: At the 1:19 mark of the 6th round, the two fighters butted heads causing a large cut above Gutierrez' eye. Upon recommendation of the ringside physician, the bout was stopped and was required to go to the judges cards. Since the 6th round was more than half way over, the judges were instructed to score the 6th round. Two of the 3 judges scored Gutierrez the winner while the other gave it to Guardado. In the end the title switched hands to Carlos Gutierrez. Due to the way the bout ended, Gutierrez will be required to rematch Guardado before defending the title or before getting a shot at a higher title.
    • This was Guardado's first defense of the title and also his first loss in the ring after going 12-0 with 9 KO/TKO's. He won the title in March of 2001 against David Serrano of Tijuana, Mexico by unanimous decision, 68-65, 69-64 and 70-63 to become the first ever IKF Pro Mexico National Champion.

  • December 18th, 1999, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, USA: *Defeated John Washington of Bakersfield, California, USA by TKO in the 4th round.
    • (*) The week of the fight, Washington asked to pull out of the bout because he came down with the flue. However, after speaking to his trainer and the IKF, he agreed to keep his commitment to save the event. Due to the special circumstances the IKF informed the promoter, JoJo Rashawans, that if Washington didn't win, he would be granted a mandatory rematch. Also, due to the special circumstances of this bout, the IKF informed the promoter they would not charge the title bout sanctioning fee to the promoter who hosts the bout. All involved agreed. However, since the win, Raul's past Promoter & Trainer, JoJo Rashawans never kept his promise and no rematch was ever attempted. In 2002, Llopis left Rashawans and moved under the leadrship of Ryan Blackorby.
